Val Lesina, which converges in the valley of Adda in Delebio, it is the first valley that opens on the Orobico side, going through Valtellina, after Lake Como.
You can enter it on foot along the two old mule tracks that begin from Delebio and Andalo.
The valley, dominated by the majestic Legnone Mountain 2610 m, is covered in fairy-tale forests which seem isolated from the world but actually offer gorgeous landscapes over the plains and Lake Como.
People do not live permanently in Lesina Valley, but it is dotted with typical chalets or baite in mountain pastures. The vegetation is dense: shady, fresh chestnut groves and beech forests give way to fir and larch forests.
Besides, this valley starts the Gran Via delle Orobie called GVO, the long path that covers the whole Valtellinesi Orobie Alps.
Moreover, at the most elevate heights you can notice the remains of military paths, galleries and trenches belonging to the “Cadorna Line”. This consists in a series of military defensive lines wanted by the general Luigi Cadorna, during the First World War, in order to protect the Italian territory and, in particular, Milan and Bergamo.
