Danilo Re was born in Boves (Cuneo, north-western Italy)
on 27th October, 1956. Just after becoming a volunteer
ecological agent, Danilo became a park-warden the first

phytogeographic importance such as: Phyteuma cordatum,
Saxifraga cernua, Crocus versicolor, Epipogium aphyllum,
Viola pinnata, Rhynchospora alba and Juniperus phoenicea.
His exsicata are held in the Park herbarium, one among
many of the initiatives concerning botany that he has
begun.
Danilo died absolving his duty on November 23rd , 1995
and since this moment in memory of this unfortunate
colleague The Authority for the Management of Parks
and Protected Areas of Cuneo Province organize a competition
for park-warden every year since 1996, at first only
for Piemonte Region wardens but later became a national
and international competition.
Orobie Valtellinesi Park is proud to host the 10th edition
