COMPETITION
RULES
ARTICLE 1
The competitions will take place at Aprica (So Italy)
on Friday 21.1.2005 and Saturday 22.1.2005. Participation
is restricted to park-wardens, employees and administrators
of Alpine and Apennine protected areas and to all wardens
working on the Park territories.
ARTICLE 2
Each team must be composed of four elements (man and
women mixed teams are allowed) and each team will participate
to each trial. Each organisation might be represented
by more than one team, applying as team “A”
for the most competitive one. Application deadline is
Saturday 15th January, 2005 at midnight.
ARTICLE 3
Individual trials are the following:
- cross country: starting on line with free technique
over a 5 km distance;
- ascent: over a slope of about 700 meters, starting
on line. Participants must be equipped with homologated
boots, skis and equipment;
- giant slalom: over a slope of about 300 meters ski
run, single run;
- shooting: with air rifles and target like biathlon
at a distance of 10 m. The shooting trial lasts 5 minutes
maximum and ten shoots are allowed from standing position.
Rifles are provided by the organisation. For this trial
wearing uniform is compulsory.
ARTICLE 4
Each trial chart gives some scores to the teams. The
sum will be used for the final chart. Being equal the
scores, times of the skiing competitions will be summed
up and considered. Scores are given as following:

ARTICLE 5
Special giant slalom ruleFor each skipped gate a penalty
of 15 seconds is applied.
Special shooting rule
In case of first three positions being equal, a series
of five more shoots will be performed as a play-off
with a maximum time of three minutes. In case of continuing
equality, it will be shot all-out with one shot each
for 40''. Scores for team chart will remain the same.
ARTICLE 6
Application is for four participants teams only, one
person for each trial. Each participant can attend only
one trial. In case one participant can not take part
to the competition, the team will receive a zero score
for that trial.
ARTICLE 7
Prizing ceremony will take place on Saturday 22nd of
January, 2005, at Magnolta, with prizes for the first
three classified for each discipline and for the three
best teams. Many other prizes will be drawn for everybody.
The organisation can change, in whole or in part, the
trophy program if it is necessary for a better outcome
of the competition.
The organisation saves the possibility of excluding
some teams from the competition in case of more than
100 participant teams . Teams will be excluded drawing
from “ C” and “ B” teams by
lot, in case some Parks have applied for more than one
team.
The organisation refuses all responsibility in case
of accidents that may occur to people or things, before,
during and after the trials.
