Confrontation of experiences
about activity of surveying, information, environmental
education and about the other ranger’s function
The Orobie Valtellinesi Park is proud to host the International
Conference that will take place in Aprica (Italy) on
21st January 2005, in occasion of 10th Trophy “Danilo
Re”, the World Championship of the Parks on the
snow.
This workshop, that is named “Besides the
surveillance. Confrontation of experiences about activity
of surveying, information, environmental education and
about the other ranger’s function”,
will be about the different Rangers’ activities,
intentionally leaving out the usually activities of
surveillance.
The Rangers’ function in the protected areas is,
in the course of the years, developed, passing from
an activity of only surveillance to many different competences:
environmental education, activity of botanic and faunal
screening, preventive measures against woody fires,
intervention in case of natural disasters.
It stands to reason that the Rangers have a primary
importance in the parks’ life, becoming very frequently
an essential link between parks and public.
For these reasons, the meetings like this workshop,
are so important and they enable to share international
experiences.
